BC Tour - Dancers of Damelahamid - Tour Production Manager
Through a capacity-building grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, I was brought onboard to plan and execute a BC Tour of Spirit Transforming and In Abundance which is touring BC this Fall 2015. We're performing in Nelson, Nanaimo, Kelowna, Revelstoke, Salt Spring Island, Burns Lake, Smithers and Kitimat.
Raven Spirit Dance - IMPACT Festival 2015 - Stage Manager
At the end of September 2015 I travelled to the IMPACT Festival in Kitchener, ON with Raven Spirit Dance's Northern Journey, Frost Exploding Trees Moon and Spine of the Mother.
RUN Workshop - Mindy Parfitt & Amber Funk Barton
In August 2015 I had the privilege to support the two week residency of RUN at the Cultch as Production Manager. This was the first time co-creators Mindy Parfitt and Amber Funk Barton were joined by their design team, Cande Andrade, Antoine Bedard and Ana Cappelluto. During the residency my role included setting schedules, liaising with the Cultch technical staff, sourcing props, costumes, and set materials, installing and striking audio, video, and set elements, and managing the private presentation.
Dancing on the Edge Festival - Stage Manager (CAEA)
This summer was my fourth season with Canada's longest-running contemporary dance festival. I love the excitement and challenge of learning and calling 18 new pieces over the two weeks.
Voices Together 2015 - Backstage Manager
Voices Together is a biennial event bringing together Christians from the Lower Mainland together to an arena setting for a day of prayer and worship. For the inaugural event in 2013 at Rogers Arena and for the 2015 event at the Pacific Coliseum I took on the role of Backstage Manager. My duties included attending pre-event meetings, consulting on schedule and stage setup, managing backstage security and ID distribution, supervising a team of 10 assistants, directing sound check rehearsals, cuing performers and assisting with changeovers.
Vancouver International Children's Festival - Site Crew/Venue Stage Manager
Working at "KidsFest" was one of my first paid gigs coming out of the Stagecraft program at Douglas College. I had to miss it for a couple years due to my touring schedule, but was thrilled to be back painting plywood green, picking up garbage in the park, and wearing silly hats! At the Waterfront Theatre I managed two shows in rep: Inuit storyteller Taqralik Partridge, and Theatre Kwatta's Manxmouse.
Me So You So Me - Out Innerspace Dance Theatre - Company & Tour Manager
My first tour with Out Innerspace was in 2012 with their work Vessel. In 2014 I returned to work with the company in planning and managing their BC/Quebec tour. We remounted the show for a tour in spring 2015 to Toronto, Halifax, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, St. John's, Moncton and Charlottetown.
Ring of Fire: The Johnny Cash Project - Chemainus Theatre Festival - Stage Manager (CAEA)
During April 2015, I was in Chemainus, BC to stage manage Ring of Fire: The Johnny Cash Project. The show is an 8-person "jukebox musical" featuring the music of Johnny Cash. I was contracted as a replacement stage manager to take over the calling of the show for the final two weeks of the run.
Cat Killer - Presentation House Theatre - Running Crew - March 2015
During the 2012-2013 season I was on full-time staff at Presentation House Theatre as Production Manager/Technical Director. At that time the "video walk" production of Cat Killer was still in development. I was very excited to return to PHT to see this innovative site-specific performance fully realized. Audience members entered the performance in groups of three, every five minutes, and were given a video device to guide them through the experience. I set the pace for each performance - resetting, troubleshooting, and cuing video devices.
PostSecret: the Show - Firehall Arts Centre - Stage Manager (CAEA) - Jan/Feb 2015
In 2004 Frank Warren came up with an idea for a art project and distributed blank postcards with the instruction to write a secret and send it back to him. Over the past ten years PostSecret.com has become one of the most-read blogs in the world. TJ Dawe, Kahlil Ashanti, Justin Sudds and Frank Warren collaborated to create PostSecret: the Show bringing the community of PostSecret into the intimate space of live performance. For this production I operated a QLab show file with over 260 video cues, and called intricate cuing sequences through heavy emotional content.
